At the time, Sunday 17th May 2015 me and family were travelling from Muar to the Klang Valley and thus stopped by at Sungai Rambai around 5.50 in the afternoon. Upon reaching the city of Melaka felt moved to make a stop at Bukit (hill of Senjuang) to look for an old tomb said to exist at the hillside...
Saya telah sampai ke bukit ini beberapa kali tetapi untuk melihat kota di puncak. Lihat artikel Bukit (Hill of) Senjuang, Melaka. yang ditulis 2008. Tahun 2015 baru tergerak untuk mencari makam. Sedangkan kewujudannya telah diberitahu kepada saya sejak setahun dua.
I have been to this hill a number of times but only to look at the fort on the summit. Look at the article Bukit (Hill of) Senjuang, Melaka which was written in 2008.. It was only on in the year 2015 that I felt moved to look for the tomb. Whereas its existence was told to me a year or two ago.
Saya mencari seorang diri dalam kemalapan hampir senja cuma berpandukan ingatan terhadap gambar-gambar yang pernah dilihat dalam Facebook. Isteri dan anak menunggu dalam kereta di kaki bukit. Menurut maklumat FB makam dipercayai milik Sultan Mansur Shah, pemerintah paling cemerlang dalam sejarah Kesultanan Melaka. Berdasarkan ingatan tersebut ini kelihatan seperti makam yang dicari.
I went looking alone under dim lighting close to dusk guided just by memory of pictures which were seen in Facebook. The wife and kids were waiting inside the car at the foothill. According to FB information the tomb is believed to belong to Sultan Mansur Shah,, the most illustrious ruler in the history of the Sultanate of Melaka. Based on the said memory this looks like the tomb I was looking for.
Yang pasti ia adalah makam paling besar dan terserlah dapat ditemui di lereng Bukit Senjuang. Saya telah meninjau-ninjau di sekeliling untuk memastikan ini.
What is sure this is the biggest and most outstanding tomb which could be found at the hillside of Bukit Senjuang. I have surveyed the area around to make sure of this.
Namun saya risau juga jika tersilap makam, Fikir saya nanti akan merujuk pada gambar yang dilihat di FB setelah sampai ke rumah.
Still I was worried that it could be the wrong tomb. So I thought I would refer to the pictures seen in FB after reaching home.
Entah kenapa saya boleh terlupa. Baru 3 jam tadi teringat kembali... apabila seorang kawan FB tag saya dengan sekumpulan gambar yang diambil orang lain yang menyebutnya sebagai gambar makam Sultan Mansur Shah.
Don't know why I then forgot.. It was just 3 hours ago that I remembered back... after an FB friend tagged me to a group pictures taken by another person who mentioned it as pictures of the tomb of Sultan Mansur Shah.
Melihat gambar-gambar tersebut saya pun mencari gambar-gambar yang diambil sendiri di lereng Bukit Senjuang untuk membuat perbandingan. Jumpa dalam fail bulan Mei 2015. Ternyata ia menunjukkan makam yang sama. Itu yang menyebabkan saya membuat artikel baru ini. Kelihatan dalam gambar atas makam-makam lain milik orang Islam di kaki bukit...
Looking at the said pictures I then went looking for pictures taken myself at the hillside of Bukit Senjuang to make comparison. Found it in the file for month of May 2015. Obviously it shows the same tomb. That is why I made this new article. Seen in the pictures are other tombs belonging to Muslim at the foothill...
