Continuing from Masjid (Mosque of) Sultan Idris II, Teluk Intan.

Seterusnya kami pergi ke kawasan pemakaman keluarga saya sebelah bapa di sebelah masjid lama Batak Rabit, sekitar 5 km ke barat bandar Teluk Intan.
Next we went to my family from my father's side burial ground besides the old mosque of Batak Rabit, around 5 km to the west of Teluk Intan town.

Terperanjat kami melihat satu bahagian telah dibina bangunan baru.
Surprised we were to see a section has been erected with a new building.

Turut didirikan papan tanda menyatakan ia adalah makam Laksamana Nakhoda Hitam, Laksamana pertama Perak.
Also erected is a signboard saying it is the tomb of Laksamana Nakhoda Hitam, the first Laksamana (something like royal admiral) of Perak.

Difahamkan bangunan baru dan papan tanda didirikan 3-4 bulan lalu.
It is understood the new building and signboard was built 3-4 months ago.

Ada beberapa orang bapa saudara saya mempersoalkan kenapa disebut ia makam Laksamana Nakhoda Hitam sedangkan dalam kawasan bangunan terdapat makam Laksamana lain dan ahli keluarga.
There are a number of my uncles who questioned why it is mentioned as the tomb of Laksamana Nakhoda Hitam when inside the building area are situated tombs of other Laksamanas and family members.

For me that is not a problem. This is because I have seen many tomb areas which are marked by the name of a personality considered as the main figure although there are a number of tombs within the same area. As it is Laksamana Nakhoda Hitam is indeed a main ancestor of ours what more he is listed as the first Laksamana of Perak.

Jadi mereka masih menyoal apakah benar perpindahan pernah berlaku.
What made us perplexed is when or in fact is it true the remains of his body has been moved here? Since as far as we know Nakhoda Hitam who passed away more than 300 years ago is laid to rest at a place now known as Kampung Bahagia, more than 10 km towards north-east. There was a member of the mosque who said his body has been moved here in the year 1980s if memory is not mistaken. But my uncles who grew up in Batak Rabit themselves have never heard any story on this until recently. Thus they are still questioning if it is true such a movement have taken place at all.

Extra note : Around 9 o'clock at night a relative contacted me to tell that indeed the remains of Nakhoda Hitam has been transferred to Batak Rabit. According to him this happened around the years 40s or 50s. Indeed this relative should know as he is closer to the office of the Laksamana. His father had hold the said position, so did his grandfather and great grandfather.
