Hampir jam 3.30 petang kami sampai ke bandar Meulaboh lalu terus menuju ke masjid ini.
Close to 3.30 in the afternoon we arrived at the town of Meulaboh and headed straight to this mosque.
Ia dipanggil Masjid Agung Baitul Makmur,
It is called Masjid Agung (Grand mosque of) Baitul Makmur.
Semasa ombak besar Tsunami melanda Aceh 26 Disember 2004 seluruh bandar Meulaboh musnah malah diratakan.
When the big waves of Tsunami covered Aceh 26th December 2004 all of Meulaboh town was destroyed in fact razed to the ground.
Masjid ini merupakan satu-satunya bangunan yang berdiri kukuh ketika itu...
This mosque was the only building which stood firm at that time...
